Dr. RUKHMABAI RAUT: She was the first formal Indian woman doctor in colonial India. She was married at an early age of just 11 years. But she refused to continue with the marriage and formally protested against child marriage, culminating into passing of the Age of Consent Act in 1891as per which women cannot be married against her consent. On her 153rd birthday on November 22, Google dedicated their doodle to salute her.
FISHING TRAWLERS NOT TO USE LED LIGHTS
The govt has banned the use of LED lights and other artificial lights on mechanised fishing vessels in order to protect the marine ecology. The decision was taken after coastal states including Goa made a representation to the Centre to prohibit these activities to save the marine ecology.

‘OUMUAMUA’- VISITOR FROM OUTER SPACE

They have named it 1I/2017 U1 (Oumuamua) and classified it as an interstellar asteroid.
